- Mentor, develop, and manage a team of junior, intermediate, and senior accountants.
- Manage general ledger accounting operations and month‑end close for the parent and international subsidiaries, ensuring strict adherence to deadlines.
- Manage granular aspects of financial reporting, including note disclosure checklists, the Accounting Standards Update (ASU) matrix, and drafting financial statement notes and disclosures.
- Support the annual consolidated external audit and lead statutory audits for international subsidiaries.
- Identify technical accounting issues, conduct research and analysis, and develop and document company accounting policies.
- Design end‑to‑end standard operating and detailed review procedures to maintain high‑quality accounting records.
- Maintain the Risk and Control Matrix (RCM) and identify risks of material misstatement.
- Lead detailed financial analysis, including monthly flux analysis and quarterly analytics, to explain variances and trends.
- Lead project management initiatives, including new software implementation for automation, and represent finance in product launches.
- Manage global indirect tax filings (Sales Tax, VAT, GST/HST) across multiple jurisdictions.
- Drive efficiency, accuracy, and impact across all accounting and financial transaction aspects.
- Liaise with cross‑departmental stakeholders on finance, accounting, internal control, or tax matters.
- CPA designation with 5+ years progressive accounting experience; preference for public accounting and high‑growth technology background.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP (and/or IFRS) and ability to research complex accounting topics and write technical memos.
- Proven experience managing month‑end close for a multi‑entity, multi‑currency global organization.
- Passion for leadership and experience managing and mentoring accounting teams.
- Experience in an environment with robust internal controls.
- Experience with major ERP systems (NetSuite highly desirable) and aptitude for automation.
- Exceptional communication skills to translate accounting impacts to non‑finance stakeholders.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment, managing competing priorities with high attention to detail.
