Position Summary


Reporting to the Director of Partnerships, the Sponsorships and Grants Coordinator will assist with all stages of the revenue generation process and support the management of existing corporate clients and funders.

This role requires strong organizational and communication skills, research aptitude and ambition, ample experience with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel, and a demonstrated ability to establish and nurture personal relationships.

This position will collaborate with internal teams as well as external agency partners / consultants to deliver against revenue generation objectives and commitments.

Position Responsibilities

Research

  • Conducts research of sponsorship marketing industry trends and companies and foundations areas of funding
  • Researches and identifies available grant opportunities across government, corporate, and foundations with an emphasis on federal government grants
  • Updates database of relevant and appropriate sponsorship, government, and foundation contacts and opportunities

Sales Materials / Grant Applications / Presentations

  • Assists with planning and development of documents and presentations for existing or potential corporate clients
  • Shares concepts and collects required feedback from internal ParticipACTION team members as required
  • Coordinates the data collection and responses for sponsorship and grant reporting under the guidance of the Director of Partnerships, Senior Director of Projects and Stakeholder Relations and other staff members, while concurrently managing reporting timelines to ensure the timely submission of all required reports

Partner Servicing & Administrative Support

  • Build and cultivate relationships with existing and prospective funding partners, becoming the primary conduit between their organizations and ParticipACTION
  • Coordinate and monitor the delivery of outputs and progress against targets for funding partners
  • Coordinate and facilitate client meetings and logistics, prepares and circulates meeting materials and minutes, and liaise with internal teams as needed
  • Tracks outreach being conducted by Director of Partnerships and external agency supports to prospective corporate clients, foundations, government and other funders
  • Additional duties as assigned

About You

  • You're excited about revenue generation and supporting the procurement and management of external funding partners of an iconic Canadian brand
  • You're incredibly creative, openminded and freethinking while at the same time highly organized and process oriented
  • You have an interest in Canadian sponsorship trends, regularly read sponsorship news for fun, and get very excited by a great brand activation you notice while attending a music festival or sporting event
  • You are curious, selfmotivated, and resourceful and want to unearth potential funding sources and grant opportunities that exist within government and foundations across the country
  • You are a firm believer in the power of sport and physical activity and the role and importance that it has in the lives of Canadians

Qualifications and Skills

  • University degree / college diploma in business, marketing, fundraising, or similar
years of revenue generation, sponsorship, and/or government grant procurement experience

  • Excellent organizational, team coordination and multitasking skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Office programs specifically PowerPoint and Excel
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset but not required
