WorkSafeBC seeks a highly motivated
Co-op Student, Stakeholder, Community, and Indigenous Relations to conduct research, data collection, and verification for external stakeholders such as employers, unions, and community groups.

The student will also assist in creating a stakeholder hub, researching communication practices, and supporting community sponsorships and events.

Additionally, they will collaborate with the Indigenous relations team and work on various initiatives such as event planning and community engagement.

This is a four-month full-time positions starting in September 2023.

At WorkSafeBC, we offer a
hybrid work model that combines the convenience of working remotely with the dynamism of working in one of our offices, based on the operational needs of the position.

In this role, you'll work primarily from your B.C. home and be on-site in our Richmond office at a minimum of once per quarter to attend team meeting.

  • Stakeholder relationship management (SRM) system
  • Research, data collection and data verification for stakeholder contact information
  • Coordinating and organizing links/attachments for stakeholder profiles
  • Work with manager and advisor on development and launch of "Stakeholder Comment/Feedback" mechanism to be available through new external website currently in development
  • Administrative management
  • SharePoint planner board, SharePoint/Excel Engagement tracker, reports and calendar
  • Coordinating department updates for monthly reports to SEMC Head and ELT
  • Support team activities for sponsorship, meetings and events
  • Drafting articles/pages for WorkSafeBC's intranet (WSN) for Sponsorship events & Indigenous relations initiatives
  • Supporting SCIR team with ongoing internal and external research e.g., community outreach

  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills,
  • Demonstrate a high level of quality and accuracy
  • Demonstrate a proactive, servicefocused attitude towards internal partners and the teams we support
  • Demonstrate an ability to prioritize work and complete tasks within set timelines
  • Demonstrate selfmotivation and an ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team

Your background and experience

  • You are a second or third year student and enrolled in a Business Administration OR Research Program OR Data Analytics OR Administrative Management
  • Is interested in research, data collection and analytics
  • Familiarity & interest/knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics or other CRM systems, plus the Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint)
  • Some academic or volunteer experience or interest in community engagement
  • Has completed a coop term or worked in an office setting
