As a remote-only team, we are seeking a Director of Finance reporting to the CEO to oversee our financial operations, providing strategic insights and ensuring our financial health and growth.
The successful candidate will be working closely with our operation and executive teams as we scale the business and bring on new partners.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy and Planning
Lead quarterly and annual financial planning process including budgeting, forecasting, modeling, and long term planning
In collaboration with senior leadership establish ambitious financial and strategic goals for long and short term success
Oversee the creation of quality and timely monthly / quarterly financial results for senior leadership and stakeholders
Analyze financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement
Develop and maintain robust financial forecasting models to accurately predict and assess performance
Provide actionable insights to support decision-making and business growth
Cash Flow Management
Manage cash flow and liquidity, ensuring adequate funds for operational needs and strategic investments
Develop and maintain cash flow forecasting models to anticipate future financial requirements
Implement cost control measures and identify efficiency improvements
Manage invoicing, payroll, AP and AR with the support of internal and external resources
Compliance and Risk Management
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and financial reporting standards
Oversee risk management policies and procedures to protect the company's assets and financial stability
Stakeholder Engagement
Work with the team to develop reporting for stakeholders that include employees, external partners, investors, bankers, and other financial partners
Communicate financial results and strategies effectively to the employees, external partners, board, and investors
What We're Looking For:
We're a remote startup so strong written and verbal communication are extremely important
Detail oriented with the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment in the face of uncertainty and change
2+ years of experience in financial planning and strategic finance role, preferably in a high-growth B2B technology company
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA, CFA would be ideal
Strong understanding of financial management principles, accounting standards, and industry best practices
Experience with finance industry software including Xero, Plooto, Wagepoint, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and a wizard with Excel
Insurance industry expertise or experience is a plus
SQL knowledge also a big plus
Salary: $100,000 - $130,000 per year
