Position Overview
Reporting to the Area Director the Branch Manager (BM) is responsible for the overall running of branch operations within company policy.
They shall ensure proper operation procedures and safety and security regulations are adhered to, while maximizing profitability and maintaining customer service standards.
This will be carried out by developing basic objectives, policies, budgets/forecasts, and operating plans in tandem with the achievement of corporate goals and strategic objectives while upholding security and health & safety standards.
The expectation will be to provide leadership and direction for all logistics, scheduling, service delivery, building maintenance, storage, and transportation functions.
In addition, the incumbent will provide strong leadership for both salaried and hourly staff (Union and Non-Union).Responsibilities
General Operations & Administration
- Oversee the proper and efficient management of all branch operations.
- Ensure prompt and efficient dispatch of armoured trucks through effective route and labour scheduling.
- Responsible for financial performance and service delivery
- Ensure proper availability and ongoing maintenance of fleet.
- Partner with Area Director and/or Area Manager to prepare forecasts, establish and present annual budgets, and other key objectives.
- Ensure that customer Service Level Agreements are consistently met.
- Hold branch leaders accountable for the daily operation of their designated areas.
- Meet company objectives as defined by the Area Director
- Partner with other department heads to effectively implement strategies and work towards business objectives.
Employee Relations
- Act as chair of your local labour relations committees.
- Create and maintain positive working relationships with peers and subordinates.
- Direct, motivate, and recognize the performance of direct reports.
- Lead regular team huddles to practice effective communication and operational efficiency.
- Supervise managers to swiftly resolve grievances that pertain to their area of the business.
- Issue, support, and/or advise on coaching and disciplinary action.
- Abide by and enforce Brink's policies and procedures.
Selection & Development
- Participate in the recruitment and selection of key management personnel for inside and outside operations.
- Utilize the Performance Management Process and Success Factors to guide the short and longterm development of direct reports.
- Monitor the inside operations management team to ensure Get Hired and other applicable processes are being followed to ensure fairness and consistency.
- Continuously seek development opportunities for division leaders and create succession plans with the Area Director and/or Area Manager and Human Resources.
- Partner with Human Resources to analyze staffing plans and targets and to ensure team members are recruited in compliance with the Corporate Equity Plan.
Health and Safety
- Promote health, safety, and wellness in the workplace.
- Support and respond to escalated matters involving employee injuries, facility security incidents, motor vehicle incidents, and/or security investigations with a high sense of urgency.
- Ensure compliance with Brink's health and safety policies, procedures, and government regulations. Monitor the completion of safety audits and postaudit action plans accordingly within the facility.
Customer Relations
- Create and maintain effective customer relations with internal and external customers. Help resolve escalated customer issues as needed.
Position Qualifications
- Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive leadership experience (security or logistic industries preferred)
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills
- Good analytical proficiency with a sharp customer focus
- History of working within a unionized environment is an asset.
- Superior interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and within various team scenarios.
- Must be able to manage conflicts directly, cooperatively, and with attention to detail.
- Selfmotivated and resourceful with the ability to motivate others.
- Actionoriented leader with the ability to maintain composure under pressure and make decisions using sound judgment.
- High productivity standards and benchmarking skills are essential.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
- Full valid driver's licence with a clean driving record
- Valid firearms license for both
