Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:


  • Lead the OES Direction Setting pillar (DS), Waste Elimination pillar (WE) and Autonomous Maintenance pillar (AM) deployment at the sites,.providing onsite training, coaching and support to site leadership teams, OES Six Sigma Directors, Six Sigma Black Belts and employees across Maple Leaf Foods to drive maturity progression and certification.
  • Partner directly with the site leadership teams and OES-Six Sigma team to progress Operations Excellence maturity and drive performance improvement to achieve Critical Business Needs.
  • Ensure OES (DS/WE/AM) knowledge transfer and adoption by sites stakeholder from operators to leadership team.
  • OES project management and monthly site selfassessment maturity progression for the identified OES accelerated sites.
  • Pillar core team member for the Direction Setting pillar (DS), Waste Elimination pillar (WE) and Autonomous Maintenance pillar (AM).
  • Support Operations Excellence System (OES) council and core team for communication and benchmarking.
  • Support governance for the OES council and core team for communication and benchmarking.
  • 80% onsite support across the Maple Leaf network as necessary (requires travel based on business need up to 40% of time).

What You'll Bring:


  • Minimum 8 to 10 years of fulltime Operational Excellence and/or Continuous Improvement work experience in manufacturing or supply chain.
  • Experience in commercial, finance or other transactional functions is an asset.
  • University degree (BSc. Engineering or Operations Management preferred).
  • Black Belt Certification or Lean Implementation Certification is an asset.
  • Inspire teams to deliver winning results against organizational priorities.
  • Communicate effectively (verbal and written) with all levels of the organization, including senior leadership.
  • Influence behavioral change using Change Management methodologies.
  • Lead OES deployment at the sites through strong leadership and initiative using Project Management methodologies.
  • Great understanding of Operations Excellence (Lean Manufacturing) including process management principles and process improvement methods.
  • Experience in an organization that had OES and/or led the deployment of the OES is an asset.
  • Implement, teach and coach Operational Excellence (Lean Methodologies) with a high degree of knowledge transfer and adoption on the part of the Operations Team.
  • Track record of developing, coaching and leading teams of indirect reports
