Aevitas Inc. is currently hiring a full-time Hazardous Materials Coordinator to work out of our Maple Ridge, BC facility.

Duties and Responsibilities

Classify and characterize hazardous materials and generate hazardous waste profiles.
Ensure hazardous materials are packaged and labelled properly and prepare associated paperwork.
Provide safe transportation of hazardous waste from a generator locations to disposal facilities
Load and unload hazardous waste using material handling equipment including forklift, pallet jacks, hand trucks and/or or dollies.
Facilitate consolidation and hazardous waste streams and assist with inventory management ensuring compliance with permits.
Comply with all corporate policies, procedures, industry standards and legislative requirements.

Qualifications

Postsecondary education in chemistry, chemical technology, related discipline, or equivalent industry experience
Minimum one (1) year experience.
Valid class 5 Drivers License
Working knowledge of handling and disposal of hazardous waste
Familiar with health, safety, environmental and transportation of dangerous goods legislation
Able to use Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
Excellent communication skills
