What is the opportunity?


The role operates within the Portfolio & Change Management (PCM) group and will function primarily as a Business Analyst (BA) and/or Project Manager (PM) on various initiatives across the Business & Client Services (BCS) department where various project drivers include: Business or Process improvements, technology enhancement or system implementations, operational risk reduction, quality improvement, regulatory soundness, cost reduction, etc.

The incumbent will work directly with relevant participants to define project parameters, success criteria, solutions, and timelines while deploying best practices in process analysis, requirements documentation, project planning, testing, and stakeholder communication


What will you do?

  • Analyze workflow processes by creating Business Process Maps for existing and proposed operational processes and systems and recommend associated solutions
  • Lead meetings to resolve problems / inefficiencies and work closely with Subject Matter Experts and Project Manager to help outline solutions
  • Prepare accurate, timely and compliant documents/reports, with a focus on Business Requirements
  • Consistently delivery highquality service with a view to exceeding client expectations
  • Liaise with IT teams during development of Functional Specification and Design documents
  • Manage multiple project tasks
  • Manage project communications including status reports to all stakeholders
  • Manage testing initiatives and participate where required Maintain effective internal and external working relationships
  • Develop user guides and training materials as required Tracking and reporting on project status in consistent format to senior management.
  • Escalate any events requiring management attention on a timely basis.
  • Provide concise and effective updates to the Associate Director and Director, Portfolio Change Management, as well as to the Project Manager where applicable

What you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience in Finance, Engineering, Science or Math desirable
  • 24 years of Business Analysis experience
  • Proficiency with sQL and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, etc.)
  • Selfmotivated, able to work independently and within a team
  • Ability to prioritize, plan and execute work to meet tight deadlines


  • Strong analytical skills

  • Ability to identify issues and suggest solutions
  • Detail oriented
  • Capable of building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders across the enterprise

Nice-to-have

  • Good working knowledge of Capital Markets operational functions and processes.
  • Detailed understanding of the fundamentals of Capital Markets trading and the transaction lifecycle
  • Detailed understanding of RBC Capital Markets organizational structure (front office sales and trading, middle office, product control, BCS, regulatory /compliance, etc.)
  • Proficiency in VBA (Visual Basic for Applications
