Business Analyst
What is the opportunity?
The role operates within the Portfolio & Change Management (PCM) group and will function primarily as a Business Analyst (BA) and/or Project Manager (PM) on various initiatives across the Business & Client Services (BCS) department where various project drivers include: Business or Process improvements, technology enhancement or system implementations, operational risk reduction, quality improvement, regulatory soundness, cost reduction, etc.
What will you do?
- Analyze workflow processes by creating Business Process Maps for existing and proposed operational processes and systems and recommend associated solutions
- Lead meetings to resolve problems / inefficiencies and work closely with Subject Matter Experts and Project Manager to help outline solutions
- Prepare accurate, timely and compliant documents/reports, with a focus on Business Requirements
- Consistently delivery highquality service with a view to exceeding client expectations
- Liaise with IT teams during development of Functional Specification and Design documents
- Manage multiple project tasks
- Manage project communications including status reports to all stakeholders
- Manage testing initiatives and participate where required Maintain effective internal and external working relationships
- Develop user guides and training materials as required Tracking and reporting on project status in consistent format to senior management.
- Escalate any events requiring management attention on a timely basis.
- Provide concise and effective updates to the Associate Director and Director, Portfolio Change Management, as well as to the Project Manager where applicable
What you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Minimum Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience in Finance, Engineering, Science or Math desirable
- 24 years of Business Analysis experience
- Proficiency with sQL and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, etc.)
- Selfmotivated, able to work independently and within a team
- Ability to prioritize, plan and execute work to meet tight deadlines
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to identify issues and suggest solutions
- Detail oriented
- Capable of building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders across the enterprise
Nice-to-have
- Good working knowledge of Capital Markets operational functions and processes.
- Detailed understanding of the fundamentals of Capital Markets trading and the transaction lifecycle
- Detailed understanding of RBC Capital Markets organizational structure (front office sales and trading, middle office, product control, BCS, regulatory /compliance, etc.)
- Proficiency in VBA (Visual Basic for Applications
