Boundary Bay Veterinary Specialty Hospital (BBVSH) is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) who is trained to perform radiographs, ultrasound, CT, MRI, and fluoroscopy and centesis in small animals.

Duties:

• Operate radiograph, ultrasound, CT, MRI, and fluoroscopy imaging equipment to produce and record images
• Perform radiograph, ultrasound, CT, MRI, and fluoroscopy examination to evaluate quality and consistency of diagnostic images, and make adjustments to diagnostic equipment as required
• Record, store and process scanned diagnostic images by using camera unit connected to the diagnostic imaging equipment
• Prepare examination reports for veterinarians
• Check diagnostic imaging equipment to ensure proper operation
• Handle, restrain and care for animals undergoing diagnostic imaging and treatment

Tasks that may be asked include:

• collect samples and perform other laboratory tests

Requirements:

• College or CEGEP certificate in veterinary technology (animal health technologist) preferred
• 5+ years of experience in diagnostic imaging
• 5+ years of experience in ultrasound
• Areas of specialization: Small (companion) animals, diagnostic imaging
• Willingness to relocate; relocation costs covered by employer
• Personal suitability: Effective interpersonal skills, good judgement, accuracy, reliability
• Security and Safety: Criminal record check
• Work conditions and physical capabilities: work under pressure, fastpaced environment, attention to detail, physically demanding, combination of sitting, standing, and walking

Job Details:

Permanent, full-time job
$35.00 to 66.00 per hour
