Reporting to the VP of Business Intelligence, the role of the Business Intelligence and Finance Administrator is to complete insurance carrier statement reconciliations to the company Broker Management System and make necessary adjustments for all HCC business units.

The role also includes working with other Business Intelligence team members to create efficiencies in processes and where applicable redesign processes to enhance and streamline workflows utilizing the software tools available.


Responsibilities:

Complete insurance carrier statement reconciliations to company Broker Management System and make necessary adjustments for all HCC business units

Assess and validate completeness of data through matching of transactions

Identify correcting transactions and determine if correcting entries are required

Work with operations to eliminate issues and identify recurring issues and trends for improvement to data integrity

Maintain database of carrier statements

Compile and validate external broker commission payments and provide to accounting for processing

Compile and validate internal producer commission expenses and provide to payroll for processing

Maintain revenue and commission expense models for HCC business units

Summarize, validate and report on agency bill net premium owed to insurance carriers

submit to accounting for processing

Maintain accounts receivable sub ledger

Provide communication to relevant parties to ensure timely collection

Review, summarize and provide cheque requests to accounting for client refunds, facility and other amounts owed

Calculate joint venture payments and provide to accounting for payment

Summarize and submit RST payments to accounting

Prepare various analysis on revenue and expense as required

Prepare and distribution daily, weekly and monthly reporting to customers

Work with other Business Intelligence team members to create efficiencies in processes and where applicable redesign processes to enhance and streamline workflows utilizing software tools available

Support Manager, Business Intelligence in day-to-day needs


Qualifications:

University or college background in finance, accounting, data science or analytics

2-3 years work experience in a finance, accounting, or business intelligence area

Intermediate knowledge of excel and other Microsoft office tools

Strong knowledge of reconciliation process and principles

Experience in the insurance industry a plus

Understanding or experience with Broker Management Systems desired

Knowledge of SAS software suite (Enterprise Guide, Visual Analytics) a plus

High degree of professionalism and ability to handle confidential and sensitive information

Strong communication skills

Ability to work independently and take initiative to perform job duties

Ability to work remotely or in office as desired
