Student - Huskie Camp Coordinator:


Summer Camps and Grassroot Programming is offered by Huskie Athletics for young aspiring athletes and children looking to hone their skills in sport.

Summer Camps are traditionally weeklong, full-day camps for children in grades 7-12 (on average) through July and August.

A variety of different sports are offered to provide children with an opportunity to learn new sport skills in a safe, fun, and cooperative environment.

Grassroot programming consists of Jr.

Huskies, academies and clinics and are offered to more advanced young athletes that may be part of the Huskie sport development model.


Huskie Summer Camps and Grassroot programs limit enrolment so that instructors are able to provide the greatest benefit to the youth participating.


Typical Duties or Accountabilities:


  • In general, the position will work with the Huskie coaches and administration staff to support the development, execution and marketing of sport camps.
  • In May through June, responsible for assisting in the creation of marketing and promotional plans for the delivery of Huskie Camps and Grassroot programs.
  • In July through August, supervise and monitor all camps, along with building plans for fall and winter programming.
  • Display strong leadership and communication with the youth participants, their parents, and Huskie administration, coaches and the camp instructors.
  • Assist with camp registration, information distribution and general assistance at the beginning of each week/camp/clinic.
  • Work with Huskie coaches and admin to build the yearly camp offerings.
  • Work with PAC 222 on registration, monitor and provide weekly registration updates.
  • Inventory and order all equipment and apparel as needed.
  • In August, build summer 2024 fusion input documents.
  • Provide camp lists/registration lists to Huskie instructors in a timely fashion.
  • Work with the coaches to identify, hire and manage payroll for the current studentathletes who will be working the camps.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:


  • Must be a returning University of Saskatchewan student
  • Current First Aid/CPR Certificate
  • Conflict resolution skills and the ability to deal with change decisively, effectively, and spontaneously is considered an asset.
