Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centred clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.


Position Overview:


Reporting to the Director of Corporate Services, the Library Technician position will provide library services including: circulation, reference, collection development, cataloguing and processing, publication order processing and inter-library loans.

This position will also support other knowledge exchange activities including identifying and reviewing research materials as required.


The Library Technician will demonstrate the following:

Experience:


  • Automated library system experience is required.
  • Experience in maintenance of audiovisual material.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate):


  • Three years related library experience or an equivalent combination of postsecondary education that includes library courses and library experience.
  • Library and Information Technology Certificate or Diploma from a recognized program.

Qualifications and Skills:


  • Excellent communication skills to interact with staff, related agencies and the general public.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work within and contribute to a positive team environment.
  • An understanding of, and sensitivity to, working with culturally diverse populations is essential.
  • Knowledge of the addictions field is an asset.
  • Fluency in English (French verbal and written an asset).
