    Term of App't: Monday - Friday, 6 hours per day

    Reporting to: Dean of Trades & Apprenticeships

    Salary:

    $ /hr, depending on experience and qualifications, as per the BCGEU Faculty Collective Agreement. Temporary employees receive an additional 2% in lieu of benefits on regular earnings, 6% vacation and 4.2% statutory holiday pay included with each pay day.

    Description:

    The successful candidate will join our team of Trades & Apprenticeship Instructors to deliver ITA certified training for all levels in the Electrical program (Foundation to Level 4). The energy and construction sector are expanding steadily and the demand for trained Electricians is strong. Through a study of residential, commercial, and industrial practices, students will explore the theoretical knowledge and maintenance procedures required to install and maintain equipment in the industry. Safe work practice is stressed throughout the program with numerous opportunities to demonstrate these practices in the foundation lab. Classroom theory for levels one through four is reinforced in our state-of-the-art electrical lab. Upon completion of the program, students are prepared to write their Inter-Provincial Certificate.

    Qualifications:

    Candidates must possess the Inter Provincial Red Seal Electrical certification, complete with an apprenticeship certificate. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to work and contribute positively to the College environment are essential. A supportive attitude to students and student success is expected. Teaching experience is preferred.
