As a
Full-Time Behaviour Support Worker for our Special Needs therapeutic program
in Abbotsford,
you will have the opportunity to be a part of a team that provides support, care, and mentorship to youth with ASD and special needs in a therapeutic home setting.

The line is 40 hours/week, Awake Overnight 11pm-7am Sunday-Thursday**
Qualifications:

Post
secondary education in Psychology, ECE, ABA, Social Services, or related field and/or equivalent experience working with youth with ASD and special needs
Minimum one year of experience working with youth with ASD and behavioural challenges
Comfortable working with aggressive behaviours
Ability to set and maintain firm boundaries with youth
Effective deescalation and crisis management skills
Ability to follow behavioural support plans
Clear and concise written and verbal communication
Ability to pass a Criminal Record Check and Ministry of Children and Family Development consolidated check (takes up to 6 weeks to process so please plan accordingly)
Minimum Class 7N BC Driver's License (Class 5 preferred) and acceptable driving record
Proof of COVID19 double vaccination record or exemption from the provincial health authority

A sample of what you'll be doing:

Maintaining a safe and healthy environment in the home
Building positive working relationships with the client, family, community members, and other professionals involved in the care team
Encouraging and modeling acceptable social standards and setting appropriate boundaries
Engaging in frequent interaction with clients, using appropriate means of communication
Facilitating recreational and/or educational activities
Driving youth to and from school, appointments, outings, etc. as needed
Attending school meetings and case conferences when required
Performing household maintenance duties, preparing meals, administering medication, and assisting youth with personal care as needed
Collaborating with the clinical team and providing input into assessments and care plans

Salary:
$22.70-$24.00/hour plus benefits
