As a
Full-Time Behaviour Support Worker for our Special Needs therapeutic program
in Abbotsford,
you will have the opportunity to be a part of a team that provides support, care, and mentorship to youth with ASD and special needs in a therapeutic home setting.

The line is 40 hours/week, Awake Overnight 11pm-7am Sunday-Thursday**
Qualifications:
  • Post
  • secondary education in Psychology, ECE, ABA, Social Services, or related field and/or equivalent experience working with youth with ASD and special needs
  • Minimum one year of experience working with youth with ASD and behavioural challenges
  • Comfortable working with aggressive behaviours
  • Ability to set and maintain firm boundaries with youth
  • Effective deescalation and crisis management skills
  • Ability to follow behavioural support plans
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • Ability to pass a Criminal Record Check and Ministry of Children and Family Development consolidated check (takes up to 6 weeks to process so please plan accordingly)
  • Minimum Class 7N BC Driver's License (Class 5 preferred) and acceptable driving record
  • Proof of COVID19 double vaccination record or exemption from the provincial health authority

A sample of what you'll be doing:

  • Maintaining a safe and healthy environment in the home
  • Building positive working relationships with the client, family, community members, and other professionals involved in the care team
  • Encouraging and modeling acceptable social standards and setting appropriate boundaries
  • Engaging in frequent interaction with clients, using appropriate means of communication
  • Facilitating recreational and/or educational activities
  • Driving youth to and from school, appointments, outings, etc. as needed
  • Attending school meetings and case conferences when required
  • Performing household maintenance duties, preparing meals, administering medication, and assisting youth with personal care as needed
  • Collaborating with the clinical team and providing input into assessments and care plans

Salary:
$22.70-$24.00/hour plus benefits
