    About us:

    The Communications team of University Admissions and Outreach (UAO), in the Division of the Vice-Provost for Strategic Enrolment Management (VP-SEM), is responsible for marketing and communications of all direct entry undergraduate programs at the University to prospective students and applicants. Communications works in close collaboration with the UAO teams in Recruitment, Outreach, and Admissions, as well as the University Registrar's Office, and divisional and campus partners. Within the UAO's context, the Communications team is responsible for inbound and outbound marketing, internal communications, coordinating tri-campus messaging, creating content, updating websites and resources, developing marketing collateral, as well as acting as a resource for divisional/campus communications, admissions, and recruitment teams.

    Your opportunity:

    Reporting to the Assistant Director, Recruitment and Admissions Communications and working in close association with University Admissions and Outreach and divisional work teams, the Print and Digital Communications Officer creates content for all UAO platforms (print, web and digital) also provides advice and content consultation to all first entry divisions, including copy editing of all print materials and Future Students website, ensuring a consistent look across all collateral. The position also produces multimedia content including photography, video and social media. The incumbent, in consultation with the Assistant Director, is responsible for production schedules, print quotes, distribution of materials locally, nationally and internationally, as well as setting deadlines and ensuring accuracy of all prospective student materials.

    Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing targeted outreach initiatives that support communication strategies.
  • Overseeing tasks related to the productionand dissemination of communications/marketing materials.
  • Implementing plans and process improvements for content generation activities.
  • Developing production schedules, including milestones, critical path, deliverables and reporting.
  • Developing content for marketing and/or promotional materials.
  • Implementing a digital media plan that supports marketing/communications strategy.
  • Writing and editing digital communications.
  • Creating and editing web pages with interactive media.
  • Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing/communications or related field or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with HTML/CSS and content management systems (Drupal, WordPress).
  • Advanced skills with HTML/CSS andworking knowledge of content management systems (Drupal, WordPress).
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills including demonstrated excellent copy editing, desktop publishing, website editing and proof reading skills for various formats.
  • Intermediate skills of MS Office including PowerPoint, Word, Excel.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills with demonstrated ability to communicate and present to technical and non-technicalaudiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment with proven strong interpersonal skills.
  • Some design background preferably with working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Understanding of the prospective student process and recruitment funnel.
  • Assets (Nonessential):

  • Certification in publishing is an asset.
