This position provides the option to work from home on Mondays and Fridays each week, with the requirement to report to the primary NOVA Chemicals work location on Tuesdays through Thursdays.

Employees can opt out of the hybrid schedule and will be expected to work Monday-Friday from the primary work location.

We are seeking an Analyst, Maintenance Cost Controller role to join our Finance Controllers team located in Manufacturing East in Sarnia, ON.

In this role, you will be dedicated to the manufacturing region to support Maintenance Cost Control activities. You will support the maintenance organization with financial planning, reporting and analysis and help develop a maintenance ground-up portfolio.


You Will, Use Your Expertise To:
Collaborate with the regional team to manage cost and cashflow of the maintenance portfolio (Major and Routine Maintenance, Expense projects)
Lead the development of maintenance cost control standardization, procedures and best practices
Collaborate with integrated support groups of production, maintenance, capital, turnaround, engineering, and projects to develop and communicate execution costs aligned to asset availability and track progress against completion costs
Support maintenance cost related data analysis of key performance metrics for leadership
Main cost control resource for major maintenance and expense projects
Drive development of maintenance activity-based planning, forecasting and reporting process
Collaborate with regional maintenance planners and schedulers to build a ground-up portfolio for routine, repetitive activities by utilizing SAP and the Portfolio Management tool
Advocate and drive cost ownership culture
Manage cash flow based on planned activities in alignment with Maintenance Work Management (MWM) Standards and forecast cashflow for future activities
Identify cost variances to plans and lead problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives
Business partner with regional maintenance and business improvement teas to support the development of Asset Life cycle analysis


What We Are Looking For:

7+ years of related cost control experience in maintenance, manufacturing, or projects
One or more of the following credentials/educations considered an asset:
A minimum 2-year technical / business school degree, diploma, or equivalent related education
Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) or equivalent technologist designation
Professional Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent
Strong working knowledge of SAP
Excellent Excel skills (Power BI knowledge is an asset)
Excellent problem-solving and facilitation skills with the ability to plan, prioritize and deliver quality results
Capable of working independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team
Continuous Improvement mindset focused on execution productivity
Strong analytical skills to disseminate and effectively present data
Communication, interpersonal and effective facilitation skills

Additional Information:

Relocation will NOT be considered for this position
Compensation will be commensurate with education and experience
This role requires up to 10% travel
