- Minimum grade 12 education.
- Completion of an approved Electrical Apprenticeship Program.
- Possession of a current valid Alberta Journeyman's Electrician Certificate.
- Possession of a current valid Alberta Master Electrician's Certificate.
- Courses and/or certification in controls and/or instrumentation.
- Additional experience in venting and dust collection systems desirable.
- Minimum of five years of experience after completion of apprenticeship, preferably
in maintenance in an institutional, commercial setting. - Additional experience in controls, electronics, clock, and sound systems preferred,
but not essential. - Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence

Learning Support Centre - High Prairie
The High Prairie School Division's Maintenance Department serves 12 schools in 7 communities.
This position is under the general supervision of the Director of Facilities.
Duties:
Journeyman Electrician is responsible for the class of work involving the application of
Standard Electrical trade practices to the installation, renovation, maintenance, and repair of
all electrical systems, fixtures, appliances, and equipment in accordance with Canadian
Electrical Code C.S.A. Standard C22.1 and related Government Standards. The application
of standard air conditioning practices for: modification, renovating, maintenance and repair
of air conditioning equipment, components, ductwork, piping and general systems;
installation, modifications, renovations, maintenance & repair of warm air heating,
ventilating exhaust, & collection systems, components, ductwork & equipment; installing,
modifying, renovation, maintaining, replacing and repairing of DDC electric and electronic
controls in accordance with Canadian and Provincial Heating Codes and Regulations;
performance of preventive maintenance duties; other related duties as required.
