CASUAL **Transition House Worker (House Parent)

Casual/ On-Call Transition House Worker aka House Parent


Wage:
According to CUPE Collective Agreement and/or inhouse incumbents' current status.


Shift schedule: 7am to 3pm, 3pm to 11pm, 11pm to 7am Monday to Friday


Commencement:
Immediately


Qualifications:

• Grade 12 or equivalent workrelated experience.
• Knowledge of issues affecting families in crisis including, family violence, crosscultural knowledge of issues, conflict resolution, HIV/AIDS, addictions, mental illness, sexual abuse, child protection.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Must have up to date and demonstrated experience/knowledge of available community resources, issues relating to and affecting Aboriginal people, refugees and other marginalized populations.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Requirements:

• Shift work, weekends, evenings and night shifts may be required according to shelter needs. Hours may vary.
• Provide a criminal record check.
• Recent medical certificate (including TB test).
• Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
• Food Safe Certificate.
