_BIS Safety Software_ is a fast-paced, high-growth organization providing leading software for the safety industry. We are expanding our team and seeking an experienced, full-time
creative writer for online courses to join our team.


About this role
The successful applicant will primarily contribute to the creative design aspects (written components) of online safety course development.

Our course development team is a cohesive group, working closely to stay on top of project deadlines, adhering to development and implementation best practices, creating storyboards, developing/reviewing high-quality videos, testing finished products, and maintaining regular communication with clients.


What you bring to the table:

  • Have exceptionally strong creative writing skills
  • Possess proven substantive, copy, and stylistic editing skills
  • Enjoy building, implementing, and ensuring compliance with style guides and standards
  • Naturally pay what can be described by some as excruciating attention to detail
  • Are extremely wellorganized and client

  • Know how to use key editing features of Word to compare documents, track changes, and mark comments
  • Are extremely adept at maintaining document version control
  • Enjoy working in a fastpaced environment and thrive on task diversity
  • Are extremely selfmotivated with little need for direct supervision or management
  • Have a positive attitude and love to share ideas for improvement
  • Display exceptional integrity, compassion, and humility in all that you do

Here's what you'll be doing:


  • Creative design for online courses including, but not limited to, voiceover scripts, storyboards, activities and scenarios, knowledge tests and exams, shot lists, and print materials
  • Writing a diverse range of online content such as external client communications, magazine articles, brochures, and training manuals
  • Completing substantive, stylistic, and copyediting
  • Researching, as required, to produce written materials
  • Collaborating with clients as well as our internal design and leadership teams to ensure quality and accurate deliverables
  • Following/creating/updating internal style guides

Qualifications:


  • Proven editing and writing experience
  • Strong computer skills including above average working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience in online course development/instructional design would be considered an asset
  • French and/or Spanish language skills also considered an asset
Salary ranges are based on experience, reflecting the unique skillset each individual brings to the role.
