Conditions of Employment:

- Must provide and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check including Vulnerable Sector Search
- Must provide and maintain a satisfactory Child Abuse Registry Check
- Must provide and maintain a satisfactory Adult Abuse Registry Check
- A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle to travel for business purposes.
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Experience performing clerical and administrative duties including working with financial matters in an office environment.
- Experience interviewing people for the purpose of gathering and verifying information and identifying needs.
- Excellent decisionmaking skills, including the ability to demonstrate sound judgement in order to distribute public funds.
- Effective verbal communication skills.
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills including the ability to handle a large volume of work and adhere to strict deadlines.
- Experience working with individuals from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively work with a diverse range of individuals and service providers.
Desired:
- Knowledge of the Employment and Income Assistance Program.
Duties:
The Financial Worker functions as a member of a case management team responsible for providing Employment and Income Assistance program services.
The Employment and Income Assistance (EIA) program is a last resort program intended to meet the basic needs of eligible participants, encouraging access and participation in the workforce for employable participants.
The program also meets the special needs of persons with a disability ensuring their inclusion in the community while respecting their independence.
The EIA Financial Worker functions as a member of a case management team responsible for providing Employment and Income Assistance program services.
The incumbent reviews, recommends, orders and/or authorizes expenditures for emergency, health and/or special needs and home & minor repairs submitted by clients.
The incumbent enters electronic data for clients' budgets, pays bills, maintains client confidentiality, and performs other clerical duties as assigned.
