BIOVECTRA Inc. has an immediate opening for a
Maintenance Manager. This is a permanent, full-time position located in
Windsor, NS.

  • Directing and overseeing the Maintenance department with a focus on quality compliance, as well as asset care and reliability using a life cycle optimization approach, including change control, preventive maintenance programs, spare parts inventory programs, etc.
  • Managing the operation budget for all facilities and equipment repair and maintenance.
  • Collaborating on capital expenditures for facility improvements.
  • Identifying, implementing, and providing technical guidance on maintenance, repair strategies and best practices for continuous improvement. Training and coaching maintenance staff were necessary based on skills required.
  • Managing external maintenance contractors.
  • Overseeing work order program: safety hazard analysis, calibrations, parts, labour, services, procedures, and tools.
  • Establishing and monitoring key equipment performance indicators and recommending improvement opportunities.
  • Preparing and analyzing monthly energy and utilities reports and provide recommendations.
  • Performing asset root cause failure analysis investigations and corrective action recommendations.
  • Working in collaboration with Engineering and Manufacturing to provide technical solutions to optimize equipment performance, installation, and maintenance costs, to ensure that assets are performing effectively and efficiently.
  • Managing the facility Superintendents and supporting roles. Creating a culture of Teamwork and continuous improvement. Instilling leadership that drive best in class services to stakeholders and clients.
  • Establishing and maintaining performance metrics within group to measure, report and drive continuous improvement.
  • Adhering to BIOVECTRA's Health and Safety Policy as outlined in CP0010 Occupational Health and Safety Policy, Statements of Principle, and Responsibilities.
  • Additional duties assigned, based on business needs and the department Director's request.
  • Engineering diploma.
  • Mechanical or Chemical Engineering Degree an asset.
  • Five (5) years in facility/operations management or supervision, preferably in the pharmaceutical or food industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical and maintenance fundamentals, with the ability to comprehend technical maintenance manuals, drawings, and specifications.
  • Good working knowledge of parts/materials procurement, inventory control methods, and budgeting requirements.
  • Ability to direct staff on a variety of work tasks and priorities, problem solve, and make decisions and recommendations on technical issues.
  • Knowledge and experience with safe work practices in a pharmaceutical or chemical manufacturing environment.
