We have multiple positions available immediately for
Traffic Control Personnel
We are looking for hard-working, dependable, safety-oriented team players with positive attitudes to join our growing team and help us to build and maintain client relationship though their on-site traffic control needs.
Compensation:
- Starting Wage of $21.37/hr all rates as per LIUNA Schedules
- Weekly Pay
- Benefits and Pension as per LIUNA rates
Responsibilities:
- Setup/Take down temporary workplaces for construction, maintenance and utility work.
- Perform basic traffic control set ups ensuring that they meet MTO Book 7 requirements to ensure safety of all stakeholders impacted by the site (crew members, motorists, pedestrians, etc.)
- Safely guide the passage of the general public through and around the temporary workplace as well as the safety of all workers onsite
- Protect your peers, construction workers, the motoring public, cyclists & pedestrians by regulating traffic flow.
- Interpret traffic management plans to determine correct placement of required signage and channeling devices
- Perform multiple traffic control setups ensuring that they meet traffic plan requirements and the safety of all stakeholders impacted by the site (crew members, motorists, pedestrians, etc.)
- Follow instructions of onsite supervisor/supervisor
- Ensure safety and efficiency issues are addressed and remedied immediately in the temporary workplace
- Maintain open and professional communication with coworkers
- Report unsafe work situations to the onsite supervisor and operations manager
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Traffic Control training or experience an asset
- G class driver's license with a clean driver's abstract
- Book 7 Knowledge is an asset
- Good communication skills to be able to give motorists & pedestrians simple directions, explain hazards, and answer questions
- An appreciation and understanding of road safety
- Able to calmly troubleshoot issues and collaborate with a diverse group of people
- Ability to use a smartphone and enter data using computerized mobile devices
- Ability to lift/move a minimum of 50lbs
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
Salary:
From $21.37 per hour
