Description
Digital Design Technologist - User Interface (UI) Design & Development On behalf of our client in the Banking Sector, PROCOM is looking for a Digital Design Technologist - User Interface (UI) Design & Development.
As a Design Technologist, you bridge the worlds of experience design with software development by creating exceptional user interfaces customers love to use
You enable teams to deliver best-in-class digital products that meet business objectives and solve real problems customers have
Role:
Designer will be working on a design system product used by internal designers and developers.
Design system architecture
Designing reusable UI components
Advocating and training users of the design system
Systems Design
Work on core design system architecture, design token frameworks, user interface guidelines and more across web and mobile platforms
Discover user interface patterns and create reusable, flexible and accessible components
Provide guidance to team members with advice and techniques that improve their understanding and mastery of design systems
Determine strategies for enabling the collection, refinement, governance and distribution of shared patterns and components
Contribute to the creation of reusable components, utilities and libraries within Figma and contribute to coded components
Community
Acts as an advocate for client-centric design methods and a single, shared client experience
Manages relationships with partners regarding design, code, execution, and syncing of User Interface assets
Shares insights and shows thought leadership via presentations, lunch & learns, and other forms of written and oral communications within the Design team and across the bank
Facilitates systems related design critique, evaluates designs for inclusivity and provides depth and breadth of expert advice and guidance to cross-functional teams
Able to break down complex topics and communicate them to a broad audience
Digital Design Technologist - User Interface (UI) Design & Development - Mandatory Skills
BA/BS degree in Design (e.g. interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial), Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science (CS), Systems Design / Human Factors Engineering or a related field or equivalent practical experience
7+ years of experience in designing and developing UI usable interfaces across multiple platforms
Demonstrated ability to articulate design strategy, rationale and logic; describing benefits and highlighting risks associated with design decisions
Strong expertise with Figma
Has experience in web and/or mobile development
Experience creating or contributing to, a design system
Digital Design Technologist - User Interface (UI) Design & Development - Preferred Skills
Experience working within a large organization and within an agile environment
Has experience designing user interfaces for mobile native platforms (Android and iOS)
Has experience with CSS, JavaScript and is familiar with common user interface tools and frameworks (Sass, Tailwind, React, Angular)
Knowledge of software services / APIs
