Position Overview:


The Team Attendant is a member of the departmental team and is assigned to work with members of the care delivery team to provide support to patients and patient care staff.

The Team Attendant is responsible for contributing to patient flow in the assigned departments by carrying out portering duties, stocking and maintaining supplies and equipment, assisting regulated staff and performing various housekeeping duties.

You may be scheduled at the Birchmount campus based on departmental needs.

Requirements:


  • High school Diploma
  • Demonstrates excellent English reading, writing, speaking and comprehension skills
  • Physical capabilities to perform duties as outlined in the physical demands
  • Proven ability to perform in a dynamic, fast paced and constantly changing environment
  • Demonstrates the ability to establish and maintain patience, compassion and a courteous manner in relationships with patients, families and coworkers
  • Demonstrated good customer service and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to accept direction and guidance
  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrates a commitment to customer service when dealing with patients, colleagues and volunteers and other members of the community and public
  • Demonstrates values consistent with SHN's Code of Conduct and is committed to fostering a healthy and positive work environment in accordance with Health & Safety policy and legislation
  • Demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to SHN's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff safety, patient safety, and environmental safety and participates in regular inservice education in this area
  • Demonstrates excellent work performance and attendance record

Asset:


  • Ability to speak another language
  • Previous/current team attendant experience
