We are seeking a Research Coordinator to work within the CP Discovery Lab, a fast-paced multi-disciplinary team investigating the etiology and rehabilitation interventions for children and youth with Cerebral Palsy.

The Research Coordinator, reporting to the Research Manager and the Principal Investigator, will primarily focus on the execution, and the day-to-day operations of clinical research trials/studies.


Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate clinical research study activities, data upload and access activities at affiliated research sites including REB notice tracking and compliance
  • Coordinate research activities including assessment/confirmation of participant eligibility, recruitment, collecting questionnaire and other data, conducting interviews/chart reviews/assessments, conduct telephone interviews, conduct health chart reviews, participate in site/monitor visits and initiate/maintain research files
  • Development and maintaining of casereport forms, data collection forms and/or questionnaires, study logs
  • Submit to REB, assist in coordinating revisions, maintain approvals, and amend documentation as required
  • Organizing study binders/checklists, data and procedural manuals, checklists of eligibility, and materials to facilitate protocol adherence
  • Initiate and maintain research files that will include original consent, documentation, general correspondence, and data collection forms
  • Perform/assist with database design, data entry, ongoing maintenance, data quality, and analysis
  • Develop and monitor timelines for study
  • Contribute to preparation of reports, poster, presentation and manuscript development and knowledge translation activities including promotional materials/newsletters
  • Assist in training/orientation of new research staff/students
  • Conduct literature reviews as required
  • Keeping abreast of Health Canada regulations and other policies governing regulated and nonregulated clinical research
  • Support team activities including meeting scheduling, preparing agendas and minutes for team meetings, note taking, photocopying, etc. as required
  • Liaise with team members, research partners, participants/caregivers etc. as needed
  • Communicates in a timely and effective manner
  • Assist with research and related administrative tasks as directed/required/assigned
  • May require flexible hours including extending into the early evening and occasional weekends

Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Minimum of 2 years related experience in clinical research and/or clinical trials coordination
  • Master's degree in health sciences or a related field preferred
  • A certification in clinical research (e.g. SOCRA, ACRP) is highly preferred
  • Experience with children and youth with disabilities/paediatric health care/research is an asset
  • Experience with quantitative data collection and analysis including SAS or SPSS is an asset
  • Excellent organization, time management and priority setting skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills
  • Strong ability to pay meticulous attention to detail while maintaining view of the larger scope
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access)
  • Working knowledge of database platforms (i.e. REDCap)
