Air Canada is seeking an experienced and dynamic Analyst, IT Network. This is a position within the Network Services team, interacting with other IT teams, primary vendors, and service providers.

The mandate is to provide expense management support with a goal of improving the value of telecom services and accuracy of our financial reporting.

Air Canada operates in a highly outsourced IT model for Network Services; therefore, this individual requires collaboration with a broad range of vendors providing the various services.

The individual will contribute to the management of the overall network budget including both operational and project finances ensuring accuracy of invoice management and cashflow.

This position reports to the Senior Manager, Network Services.


Responsibilities:


The IT Network Services Analyst will:

  • Provide expense management support for a large enterprise operational budget
  • Responsible for analyzing monthly invoices to identify errors, discrepancies, and potential costsaving opportunities
  • Conduct invoice validation and submission for approval on telecom invoices
  • Manage invoicing disputes and issues through to resolution
  • Work with Air Canada IT's telecom vendors to review and develop procedures for the management of invoices and disputes
  • Reconcile Network Services invoicing to contracted services, inventory, and budget
  • Perform allocation management
  • Execute inventory management tasks to ensure timely updates to inventory using project data, MACD, and vendor portal reports
  • Keep track of expenses related to invoicing process, compare actual costs to the approved budget and create monthly accrual reports
  • Build and provide adhoc expense reporting and monthly cash flow forecasts
  • Prepare and share budget status, trends, and insights to management and leadership
  • Work in collaboration with other departments, including IT and Finance

Qualifications

  • A relevant University degree/technical certifications (and/or relevant experience)
  • Telecom Expense Management and/or Accounts Payable experience preferred
  • 35 years experience in IT, Accounting, Finance, Consulting, Strategy and/or Analytics
  • Analytical skills to compile information and data from multiple sources, the ability to work with numbers and formulas
  • Experience analyzing and reporting data to identify issues, trends, and exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions
  • Experience with various telco services including telephony, circuits, managed services and how they are invoiced
  • Experience with invoice processing, reconciliation, and dispute management procedures
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Powerpoint
  • Experience with SAP Ariba or other financial software platforms
  • Diligent work ethic by promptly addressing tasks, proactively following up on activities, advocating for customers, and consistently driving results
  • Proficient in both verbal and written communication, with the capacity to collaborate effectively across internal and external teams
  • Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills, keen attention to detail, and a proactive approach
  • Familiarity with the airline industry an asset
