Would you like to participate in a 'once-in-a-lifetime' project that will protect Calgary and its communities?


We are looking for
a Heavy Civil Structures Coordinator with Electromechanical Experience to join our team and build the Springbank Off-Stream Reservoir, 15km west of Calgary.

The Springbank Off-Stream Reservoir will provide flood protection along the Elbow River in Calgary and other downstream communities.

About the Position:

This is a 6 month fixed term contract with the opportunity to grow your experience obtain a permanent position within the company.



Role & Responsibilities:


  • Assist the Senior Coordinator and project Manager in managing a part of the project construction, such as a section, work area or work zones.
  • Plan the work in coordination with the site superintendent and develop accordingly 3 weeks operational look ahead schedule.
  • Assist in the acquisition of material equipment as required by either the Superintendent or Project Manager ahead of time in order to ensure the correct progress of the scheduled work.
  • Enhance coordination between disciplines and work zones.
  • Make sure the team or the subcontractors are working with latest approved documents.
  • Monitor and alert on progress of the works, as well as any deviations observed during construction work.
  • Continuously demonstrate, through actions, full involvement in QHSE issues (participating in QHSE meetings and QHSE programs, motivating the personnel and ensuring that staff follow the QHSE policies).
  • Ensure compliance of the works with the safety recommendations and the Health & Safety and the Environment Plan.
  • Attend morning tailgate/prestart meeting and other construction meetings as required.
  • Develop work construction procedures and method statements, and work sequencing.
  • Participate in the details of the operating procedures, coordination meetings, schedules and other project construction meetings.
  • Submit documents constituting feedback relating to the works, in particular the daily reports.
  • Regularly check compliance with the protective measures defined by the Environment Manager.

Requirements & Preferred Experience:


  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in the construction industry, preferably on large infrastructure projects.

Pay:
$70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
