As one of Canada's largest marine engineering integrators, we are looking for talented individuals to bring their skills to Fleetway as we lead the way in Canadian naval defence contracts (In Service Support).

Our work is project focused on government ship design and support, including warships, ferries, ice-breakers and commercial vessels. We are looking for a qualified Learning Systems Specialist for our Dartmouth, NS office.


The Learning Systems and Technology Analyst will work within the Training Programs team to support the design and development of learning content creation and the learning system architecture.


Key Responsibilities and Outcomes:

  • Configuration and development of xAPI capabilities for Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) systems.
  • Ensure xAPI objects are properly configured and tested prior to roll out of new courses/learning resources in the LMS.
  • Provide technical input and support on projects and initiatives requiring programming, content management, and data reporting expertise.
  • Use computer technology to enable continuous improvement, reduce error prone processes, and automate development workflows.
  • Develop learning policies and standards, while providing technical guidance through recommended best practices.

Skill, Capabilities, and Experience:

  • A diploma with a major in one of the following: computer science, software engineering, engineering graphics, interactive media, gamification/interactivity design for elearning, education, adult learning or distance learning
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in some/all of the following: programming languages such as JSON, XML, Java, Javascript, HTML, CSS, Java, C++,
  • Learning specifications such as SCORM, xAPI, cmi
  • Development tool suites such as: Microsoft DEVOPs, GitHub, Microsoft Office, Adobe systems, Articulate 360
  • Services architectures such as: REST, Cloud, SOA
  • Experience working in Integrated Data Environments
All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance
