This position has an initial appointment of 1 year.
Location - This role is hybrid with a mix of remote and in-person work at North Campus Edmonton.
The Neuroscience and Mental Health Institute (NMHI) is a multi-faculty, interdisciplinary research and training institute. The institute fosters collaboration among scientists, physicians and trainees, and is a catalyst for research and innovation.
Reporting to the Scientific Director of NMHI, the Operations Lead serves as a member of the Senior Leadership team of the institute. The Operations Lead supports stakeholder relationships for key initiatives and projects within the institute. The Operations Lead participates in planning and decision-making related to all leadership functions of the institute and initiates, develops, and/or implements strategic planning and financial management activities, ensuring the execution of the institute's goals in collaboration with the Scientific Director.
The Operations Lead is also responsible for managing the NMHI office and its staff, ensuring the overall business plan is realized through strategic planning, business development, and excellence in operational leadership. With direct reports, the Operations Lead oversees multiple disciplinary and functional areas and staff, including HR and financial administration, marketing and communications, project management, program development, grant and studentship competitions, and events for NMHI.
