About Sons of Kent Brewing:
Located in the heart of Downtown Chatham in a once iconic movie theater, Sons of Kent Brewing Company is a growing, regional brewery.
Production Assistant to join our team.
This, full-time position of reports to the Production Manager and will be working within the production area doing tasks including packaging, cleaning, cellaring and warehousing.
We currently have a Five-head Cask ACS Can Filler, HDP Bottle Filler and NSI Keg Washer/Filler.These machines help us get our beer into package, so we can supply our friends near and far Our Brewing team works together to lead innovation on projects and ensuring the highest quality standards.

Job duties and requirements:
- Safely and responsibly handle packaged beer, packaging equipment, and materials.
- Proper sanitary cleaning of all packaging equipment and surrounding area.
- Observe machine operations to ensure quality and conformity of filled products to standards.
- Stop or reset machines when malfunctions occur, clear machine jams, and report malfunctions to a supervisor.
- Clean, oil, and make minor adjustments or repairs to machinery and equipment.
- Working with team to develop policies and procedures for packaging operations.
- Perform quality inspections of primary and secondary packaging throughout the process.
- Training and developing other packaging team members on policies and procedures.
- Performing weekly preventative maintenance and lubrication routines.
- Supporting shipping and receiving department as required.
- Supporting brewing operations as required.
- Report Beer and Material Usage and Loss Rates
- Develop Packaging Production Schedule with Production Manager
- Develop Skills to Execute Final Beer QC Checks and CIP of Beer Tanks
Education/Work experience requirements:
- Technical Education background an asset.
- Forklift or Scissor Lift certification an asset.
- Microsoft Excel experience.
- Be able to lift up to 60lbs on a frequent basis.
- Have knowledge of industrial controls and automation (previous manufacturing experience is an asset)
- Have a desire to learn new techniques and processes.
- Have a mechanical aptitude and willingness to understand how things work and how to troubleshoot.
- Have full ownership of process and ability to follow and develop consistent procedures.
- Be a selfstarter and always look for opportunities to improve.
- Be focused on safety and the environment. No risk taking and mínimal impact to the environment will be key aspects of the operation.
All applicants must be of legal drinking age, 19+, and be able to work flexible hours if needed.
