Position Summary:
Reporting directly to the Faculty Administrator (FA) and working closely with the Dean, the
_Manager of Accreditation and Strategic Projects_ will serve as a key member of the Hill and Levene Schools of Business (Schools).
The Manager will be the staff lead for the Schools' accreditation process with the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) professional association.
This Manager will also be responsible for supporting the Schools in its strategic planning process and leading on the annual strategic reporting including ensuring the identification of relevant data, collection and analysis of required data and preparation of draft reports for the Dean.
They will understand what our projects have in common - their strategic role in how our Schools succeed, learn, and change - and will use their strong project management skills to drive success and shift readily between the "big picture" and small-but-crucial details.
Main Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the development and management of the project plan, associated data collection and analysis, and writing of various documents for AACSB Accreditation.
- Responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with faculty, staff and the Associate Deans as these systems are built, data is collected and analyzed and reported upon.
- Be the Hill and Levene Schools expert in the AACSB accreditation standards and a source of reliable and timely information for the Dean, Associate Deans, staff and faculty members.
- Interpret and make appropriate analyses of the AACSB accreditation standards for our Schools.
- Supports the Dean and FBA as the lead in the Strategic Planning and Annual Reporting process:
- Provide the expertise to any data collection or data source changes that might create efficiencies or increased relevancy to metrics being measured.
- Cultivate the people skills needed to develop trust and communication among all of a project's stakeholders: its sponsors; those who will make use of the project's results; those who command the resources needed; and, the project team members.
- Appreciate and understand the strategic importance of this role and associated projects to the Schools and University of Regina.
- Lead on managing all strategic projects undertaken by the Schools as determined by the Dean:
- Ensures appropriate metrics are in place to measure performance and progress towards strategic goals and identifies when progress towards strategic goals is ahead or behind schedule with recommendations to resume timely completion of strategic goals.
Position Requirements:
- University degree in Business (with major in accounting, marketing or project management preferred).
- Fully qualified member of an appropriate professional body e
g:
PMP would be an asset.
- 3 years of progressive experience in some combination of strategic planning, analysis and report writing; project management; data collection and analysis; accreditation; and, financial budgeting and modelling.
- Knowledge of project management approaches in a complex environment.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and building relationships at various organization levels.
- Strong business acumen, problem solving and analytical mindset.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong ability to deal with ambiguity, multiple data sources, and translating data/analysis into key messages and insights.
- Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Experience in strategic planning and reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to produce accurate and reliable data.
- Project management skills and ability to work under tight time lines.
- Understanding and proficiency in financial budgeting and modelling.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office including Excel and PowerPoint.
- Some knowledge of accreditation standards in higher education.
- Thorough knowledge of the university environment and academic structure is preferred.
