Be part of a team whose goal is to maintain and enhance public safety

Community Corrections Division of the Corrections Branch delivers programs and services to adult offenders or alleged offenders awaiting trial or sentencing, who are serving community-based sentences of the court, or conditional release from custody.

The intent of these programs and services is to enhance public safety by assessing and managing the risk of the offender and providing intervention to change behavior.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated Adult Probation Officer who is looking to be a part of a diverse team.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree (4 years; 120 credits) from a recognized Canadian Institution
Successful completion of the Adult Probation Officer prerequisite course (CORR1000)
Valid Class 5 B.C. driver's license. A valid Class 7 may be considered
Computer and keyboard skills (minimum 30 wpm)
Transcript from your university degree**:
A scanned copy of your valid B.C. driver's license
Confirmation of completion of the JIBC prerequisite course CORR 1000
Scanned screenshot from a typing test confirming your ability to type 30 WPM

About this Position:

Currently there is one (1) temporary full-time positions (70 hours biweekly) until April 30, 2024, which may become permanent.

An eligibility list may be established for future permanent and/or temporary full time or part time opportunities.

Overnight travel to remote locations and working outside typical work hours may be required and a valid BC driver's license is required.
