MHICA has two state-of-the-art facilities combined to 476,000 sq. ft.

This comprises of Manufacturing & Assembly, Engineering, Quality and Supply Chain, where highly-skilled employees are working on Bombardier's sector-leading Global 5000/6000 and Challenger 350 business aircraft.

MHICA's technicians build and join wing assemblies and fuselage sections, as well as perform systems and flight control assembly installations and testing.


Scope of Position


Reporting to the Senior Manager - Human Resources, the Human Resources Generalist is responsible for providing support in all areas of the Human Resources function for the Company.


  • Oversee all HR functions, including performance management, employee benefits, job descriptions, policy development, professional development, training/development, and recruitment.
  • Support, advise and coach leaders within the organization in accordance with local legislation and company policy.
  • Implementing company and departmental strategies to increase employee satisfaction.
  • Promote continuous improvement in all areas.
  • Manage performance management program in SAP SuccessFactors.
  • Responsible for employee orientation, onboarding and off boarding processes including new hire employment documents, payroll coordination, and exit interviews as employees' transition into and out of the Company.
  • Handle employee exits, including terminations and drafting relevant documentation.
  • Maintain a strong knowledge of HR practices and policies and recommend changes to improve processes.
  • Research industry trends, advise on how to reward and engage the workforce, and stay up to date with changes to compensation and benefits offerings
  • Handle highly confidential and sensitive information in a professional manner.
  • Facilitate the resolution of employee or leadership concerns and questions, bringing together the appropriate stakeholders to manage the conflict to resolution.
  • Works with business leaders to understand resources and skill needs and obtain approvals for backfills, new positions, etc.
  • Develop, execute, and track Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) for the HR team.
  • Track HR metrics, including turnover, recruitment, performance evaluations, and proactively action plan to drive continuous quality improvement.
  • Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable HR federal and provincial requirements, conducting investigations, and maintaining records.
  • Draft Companywide communication regarding HR initiatives.
  • Perform other related duties and assignments as required.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time.
  • Indepth knowledge of relevant employment legislation.
  • Flexible and willing to learn new tasks.
  • Ability to work shifts to accommodate production scheduling.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to clearly articulate complex messages.
  • Ability to create an atmosphere where employees feel free to express concerns and suggestions.
  • Must be able to actively listen, demonstrate empathy, and maintain objectivity.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Highly flexible and adaptable in order to prioritize responsibilities in a fastpaced environment.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience within a large or midsized Company.
  • Experience within an aerospace or manufacturing environment is considered an asset.
  • Experience with leading and participating in individual team projects with successful results.
  • Experience with SAP SuccessFactors, (Employee Central, Performance, Goals, Recruitment, Onboarding, Learning and Compensation) and Kronos time and attendance is considered an asset.

Education

  • College diploma or undergraduate degree in related field.
  • Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) or Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) is preferred.
