The Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) administers direct nursing care for patients within the scope of their license with the College of Nurses of Ontario; provides indirect patient care by ensuring the proper maintenance, cleaning and assembly of equipment and facilities; works cooperatively with other health team members, while maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.

The hours of work are all shifts, including weekends.
Basic Requirements

• Successful completion of an approved RPN program;
• A current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario;
• Completion of Medication Administration for R.P.N.'s, medical asepsis, catheterization and IV training/education, combined with previous experience utilizing these skills;
• Demonstrated satisfactory attendance levels, performance levels, disciplinary history and positive work references;
• Demonstrated knowledge of various computer applications and software related to healthcare programs;
• Ability to work in a manner that exemplifies the core values of the

Preferred Qualifications

• Courses in Behaviour Approach (such as P.I.E.C.E.S, GPA or restorative);
• Previous experience in Nursing Skills pertinent to Acute Care.

Compensation & Benefits

• $32.59 per hour to start
• Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP)
• 4% vacation pay and 14% pay in lieu of fringe benefits (12% if enrolled in HOOPP)
