SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE

The Human Resources Coordinator is a key member of our small but mighty HR department supporting Orangetheory Fitness's most valuable asset; our people Reporting to the Manager of Human Resources, the HR Coordinator provides full-cycle HR support to the 30 OTF Edmonton and Affiliate owned studios across Alberta, BC, Saskatchewan and Ontario.

This is a diverse role that will require a high performing individual who is passionate about all aspects of HR and thrives on change and variety as this role offers ample opportunity to learn the full spectrum of HR.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Recruitment

  • Champion OTRecruit, our Applicant Tracking System
  • Educate management on utilizing OTRecruit to facilitate the best applicant experience
  • Champion and innovate full cycle recruitment processes as required
  • Foster a culture of inclusive talent identification, attraction, and assessment
  • Support management with the recruitment processes (monitoring the postings, phone interviews etc.)

Employee Experience

  • Facilitate cyclical HR programs and initiatives, including but not limited to performance review programs, talent acquisition and retention strategies, employee exit surveys, and new programs and initiatives
  • Support the innovation of mental health and DEI strategies
  • Support with conducting periodic engagement surveys to measure employee satisfaction and employee engagement
  • Develop and implement engagement initiatives that increase retention

Policies and Procedures

  • Draft new and manage existing policies and procedures; update employee handbook accordingly
  • Ensure compliance for all policies & procedures and federal & provincial laws. Ensure all are proactively researched and managed.
  • Educate employees and management on policy and procedures

Data and Analytics

  • Monitor and report on HR trends regarding retention, engagement, etc.

Employee Relations and Performance Management

  • Coach managers on performance management and improvement. Assist in the creation/follow up of action plans around improving employee's performance
  • Lead and advise on employee relations issues in Corporate Studios with guidance of the HR Manager. Lead the investigations when employee complaints or concerns are brought forward.
  • Prepare and administer termination notices and related documentation around termination of employment

Health & Safety

  • Support the compliance of studio Health and Safety programs
  • WCB coordination, tracking, and training for respected provinces

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Human Resources or other relevant postsecondary education
  • Minimum of 2 years of HR related experience
  • Actively or planning to pursue CPHR designation
  • High degree of professionalism balanced with the ability to promote fun at work
  • Techsavvy and able to learn technology tools to support human resources and talent functions
  • Ability to build and foster effective relationships and use effective influencing strategies
  • Required to uphold confidentiality at the highest level
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and create value for human resource programs and policies among all levels of employees

This is a full-time position


POSITION LOCATION
This position will be located in Edmonton, Alberta based out of our OTF Canada office located in downtown Edmonton. There will be the opportunity for flexible working arrangements.


TRAVEL
This position requires no travel
