DESCRIPTION:


Reporting to the National Director Shared Services the National Learning and Development Specialist will be responsible for the development and implementation of learning solutions and programs on a national basis (Ontario, West, Prairies, Quebec).

This new role is a hybrid position (shared time in office as well as remote) that will be based out of Guelph, ON.


Responsibilities:


  • Development of (instructional design) learning programs within Sleeman's training and development framework, including but not limited to; Supervisor Learning Essentials program and Emerging Leaders Essentials program.
  • Facilitation of training programs in partnership with internal team members as need be.
  • Partner with internal key stakeholders to investigate training options and standards specific to their function (e.g. Food Safety, Sales Functional training) to ensure alignment with the future direction of the broader training and development goals of the organization.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to build learning paths for foundational training programs such as the Sleeman Leadership Essentials program and Sales functional training.
  • Partner with regional HR teams and shared services HR to integrate learning programs into onboarding for new hires or new leaders to ensure learning continuity across employees.
  • Conduct a needs analysis for training options for individual contributor employees and recommend options for broader access to training resources.
  • Participate in business case development for a new learning management system (LMS); collaborate with key stakeholders to configure and implement an LMS; ensure best practice change management is put in place to encourage maximum adoption across the organization; maintain system after implementation.
  • Collaborate with regional HR and the Talent and Communications Manager to identify and create a business case(s) for eLearning solutions as well.
  • Create learning materials including eLearning content, storyboards, user guides, tutorials, instructor guides, case studies, assessments, videos and podcasts
  • Investigate and develop learning and development metrics; report on status, progress and program impact to internal stakeholders on a regular basis
  • Leadership of the Sleeman's Tuition Reimbursement program as well as the organization's internal training budget allocation process. Partner with Quebec team on legislatively mandated training targets and budget management.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of best practices and industry trends related to people development, leadership, workplace learning and adult learning.
  • Support the development and rollout of all learning solutions using program management and project management methodologies
  • Ensure learning solutions demonstrate best practices in adult learning principles, 70/20/10 framework
  • Research and implement a preferred provider program for training needs within the organization. Maintain and update program as required, including managing vendors and contracts for the program.

Requirements:

  • 57 years learning and development experience including direct experience in instructional design. Post secondary education in a related field Strong communication, project management, and interpersonal skills Proven track record to handle multiple projects and changing priorities Ability to build collaborative relationships at all levels of the business Proficient in adult learning best practices, mediums, and processes Proven consulting, relationship management and followup skills.
