Quality Inspector - Level 3


The Quality Inspector - Level 3 position is responsible for inspecting products and performs quality audits to test and sample raw materials for incoming products to ensure compliance with company standards.

Primarily responsible for approving products for distribution, initiating corrective action for procedural, product, or process deficiencies and analyzing reports and returned.

In addition, approve final label copy and ensure it meets company and governmental regulations. This position may provide work guidance and train lower level inspectors.

**Essential Responsibilities

  • Assist in the general operation and the daytoday demands of the Quality Department. Schedule or assign inspection duties.
  • Able to perform first off inspections, part layouts, receiving inspection, in process inspection, final audits, LPA, and gauge repeatability studies.
  • Able to complete the necessary forms and paperwork.
  • Ability to make informed decisions in situations of uncertainty.
  • Issue Nonconforming Material Tags.
  • Understand TS processes including nonconforming material, identification, and inspection processes.
  • Adhere to all Health and Safety, environmental laws and procedures.
  • Train inspection personnel.
  • Evaluate cost and quality standards and carry out statistical quality control.
  • Operate CMM and have basic CMM programming skills. Make continuous improvement recommendations to quality management.
**Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent general education.
  • Minimum five years of related experience.
  • Able to read blueprints and interpret engineering drawings and various procedure manuals.
  • Able to use measuring equipment effectively, including micrometers, verniers, height and bore gauges.
  • Ability to perform PPAP layouts.
  • Knowledge and comprehension of CMM programming.
  • Knowledge of TS Able to use various software programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Ability to work independently, coordinating work with work of others exchanging information simultaneously.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts and use technical skills to establish reasons for errors in products. Maintain continuous learning through various education courses in order to keep up with new developments in field.
