The final compensation for this position will be determined based on individual factors, including education, qualifications, experience, and internal equity.

The Opportunity

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Accurately gather, document, and communicate business requirements by breaking down epics into user stories for development teams to build during sprints. The Product Owner must use appropriate communication techniques in a manner that stakeholders can understand, review and validate (technical and business materials, presentations, demos, and workshops), and developers understand what they need to deliver.
  • Prioritize user stories to be consumed by the Agile team during a sprint and maintain a healthy backlog of work ready for the development team. Facilitate the refinement process working closely with the team to produce high quality stories and guide the team through sprint planning sessions.
  • Work as a member of the Agile team during all stages of the delivery process. Interact with stakeholders to ensure that delivery matches stakeholders expected outcomes. Work closely with the Scrum Master and Technical Lead in planning out delivery.
  • Contribute towards defining Product Owner standards and processes, demonstrate understanding of industry best practices within the Product Owner domain. Ensure best practices are incorporated into their activities and deliverables.
  • Engage and collaborate with other Product Owners and Chief Product Owners to ensure best practices are followed within the organization. Embrace a spirit of continuous improvement both within the Agile team and the throughout the organization.
  • Support the Agile team throughout all phases of the SDLC by performing manual testing, system testing, user acceptance testing and helping the team maintain high levels of quality assurance. Assist the full stack developers in reproducing defects under investigation.
  • Experience in a DevOps environment with experience in triaging bugs that come in for support and the ability to coordinate and collaborate with other DevOps teams to assign the bugs to the proper resources for resolution.

What we're looking for in you:

  • Post-secondary degree or equivalent experience performing PO work in a software development environment.
  • 7+ years of experience demonstrating progressive skill development and responsibility with demonstrated experience working as part of an agile software delivery team.
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner or Professional Scrum Product Owner.
  • Experience working with Agile and DevOps software product development and delivery teams.
  • Demonstrated experience in IT quality assurance and testing, including manual testing, system testing and user acceptance testing.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills to effectively align solutions to business needs and processes while considering enterprise and organizational outcomes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as proven relationship building skills with a broad array of different stakeholders who have varying degrees of technical background.
  • Strong ability to align software development team velocity to effectively size and group stories into a defined software deployment cycle.
  • Demonstrated experience in triaging bugs that come into support and the ability to coordinate and collaborate with dev teams to assign the bugs to the proper resources for resolution.


Preferred Qualifications- Experience with Microservices based architecture.- Experience with several of the following technologies; , React, GraphQL, Azure Cosmos, Azure DevOps, GitOps, Azure cloud service offerings.- Oil and Gas related work experience would be considered an asset.- Excellent organization and time management skills.

- Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of duties
