Overview of role:


With a strong focus on SPOT initiatives, the Ramp Service Coordinator is responsible for ensuring appropriate and efficient day of allocation both internal and external manpower to meet our operational goals and deliver a world class internal and external guest experience.


Roles and Responsibilities:


  • Assign daily positions for our service partner and our internal ramp positions
  • Support future planning of Service Provider staffing schedules and headcount requirements
  • Support next day planning for both WestJet and Service Provider ground handling teams
  • Support tracking and trending statistics regarding service level agreements
  • Work with our service partner on day of provided staffing and Ground Service Equipment
  • Monitor station operational activity to ensure proper staffing allocation
  • Ensure all agent anomalies are inputted accurately
  • Manipulate staffing based on day of operations challenges
  • Collaborate with our Hub Control teams to ensure efficient baggage movement and aircraft movement
  • Work with our Tech Ops team to ensure resources are present to support aircraft
  • Work with Ramp Service Managers to allocate alternate duties as necessary to those WestJet agents on modified work agreements
  • Provide feedback to the Workforce Planner and Coordinator as needed for scheduling trends
  • Approve or revoke shift trades as required
  • Receive attendance calls from our internal team members, work with Ramp Service Managers to backfill day of and future
  • Provide operational feedback to Ramp Service Managers, Ramp Service Leads, and Hub Duty Managers regarding staffing opportunities.
  • Provide dayof feedback regarding service provider agent performance to ATS Leadership or Duty Manager teams.
  • Create, prepare crew planners, and allocate tasks within Staff Manager
  • Ensure a detailed handoff to the next shift
  • Attend and participate in scheduled operational briefings in the Hub Control Centre
  • Actively participate in process improvements in the operation

Requirements:


  • A minimum of two years of airline operations experience is required.
  • Contract management and oversight experience is an asset.
  • Experience in ground operations is asset.
  • Experience in a highvolume Hub airport operation with a significant level of internal and external dependencies and relationships are an asset.
  • Ability to influence and communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Well organized, meticulous attention to detail, and accuracy.
  • Recognize and action challenges that may arise promptly and efficiently.
  • Proven track record to meet operational and performance targets.
  • Proven track record of keeping informed and up to date on procedural changes and completing all WestJet issued training within the communicated deadline.
  • Must hold or successfully receive a Restricted Area Pass.
  • Must hold or successfully receive an AVOP license.
  • Previous experience with baggage reconciliation systems is an asset.
  • Previous experience with Airport baggage systems is an asset.
  • Ability to work shift work, including weekends, AM/PM.
