    Senior Oracle Database Administrator - Remote

    Responsibilities:


    • Provide administrative support for Oracle 12c, 19c, PostgreSQL, and AWS RDS database instances, including various sub-components.
    • Demonstrate advanced expertise in performance tuning, focusing on partitioning, indexing, storage optimization, and memory management.
    • Maintain current documentation and procedures for all supported database platforms.
    • Administer Oracle infrastructure, including server/instance installations (stand-alone and clustered), service-pack upgrades, hot fixes, client tool installations, readiness programs, new feature implementation, and research and development (as directed by the Infrastructure Manager).
    • Collaborate with other Database Administrators or Developers to define requirements.
    • Explore methods to automate and enhance infrastructure using code release processes.
    • Provide support for Oracle Advanced Security features, such as Transparent Data Encryption (TDE).
    • Perform performance analysis, monitoring, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
    • Support project development in accordance with documented standards, policies, and procedures (Change Management Process).
    • Conduct regular reviews of database vulnerability scans and address any identified vulnerabilities.
    • Work closely with team members, technical/team leads, management, specialized IT areas, and application support teams to ensure consistent delivery and quality of database services.
    • Establish, document, and enforce consistent standards and procedures.
    • Contribute ideas for enhancing best practices, process efficiency, and innovative solutions.
    What you will need to succeed:


    • 10 years of technical experience working with Oracle 12c and 19c hosted on Unix and Linux platforms.
    • Familiarity with Oracle Enterprise Manager or GRID Control, RMAN backup and recovery strategies, Oracle replication, mirroring, log shipping, maintenance plans, and disaster recovery strategies.
    • Proficiency in PL/SQL, including a strong understanding of system tables, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and SQL tuning.
    • Experience participating in database upgrades, cloning, platform migrations, installations, and patching.
    • Familiarity with Oracle database monitoring and tuning using native Oracle tools or other third-party solutions.
    • Experience with Embarcadero DBArtisan, native Oracle tools, and other third-party tools.
    • Knowledge of Oracle Key Vault, Veritas clustering software, and AIX and Linux operating systems.
    • 5 years of technical experience working with PostgreSQL version 9 and above hosted on Linux or AWS cloud-based platforms.
    • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, MongoDB, and Redshift databases.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks.
    • Willingness to contribute ideas, propose solutions, and take initiative.
