We are looking for a dynamic and energetic individual to join our new state-of-the-art medical practice.


Qualification & Skills

Required Education:

High school degree or equivalent

  • Intramuscular injection certified (IM Certified)

Required Experience:

At least 1 full year of Phlebotomy and Medical reception experience.


Required Skills:


  • Excellent venipuncture skills
  • Intramuscular injection skills (as supervised by a Physician)
  • Conduct routine ECGs
  • Effective communication skills
  • Strong Computer skills including demonstrated proficiency in Word, Excel
  • Ability to type 30 wpm, 10key by touch
  • Must be effective at multitasking and problem solving
  • Professionalism
  • Reliable
  • Knowledge of OSCAR EMR is an asset
  • Aptitude for mathematics and science and a keen interest in scientific work. Ability to do detailed work and maintain a high level of accuracy.
  • Enjoy taking a methodical approach to their work, analyzing results, establishing procedures and using computers and specialized instruments for accurate and precise testing.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Collect and prepare patient samples for testing
  • Log and send patient samples to Public Health, Life Labs, or Dynacare
  • Set up, clean, and maintain Medical Laboratory equipment
  • Assist Physicians with various patient care services, such as pap tests, height, weight, and vision testing, suturing, etc.
  • Communicate with patients, Physicians, hospitals, and other institutions to set appointments, make followup calls, etc.
  • Work efficiently in a fastpaced environment, take initiative, remain organized, responsible, punctual, and display consistently professional manners
  • Examine urine samples

  • Trains and orientates new Medical Laboratory Technologists in the performance and interpretation of tests.

Required Languages:

English (fluent speech, writing, listening, reading)


Schedule:


  • Typical schedule during the week will be 9am to 5pm Monday
  • Saturday or as required by the business.
  • Weekend availability is mandatory.

Salary:

$17.00-$18.00 per hour
