Accounting Manager - Mississauga, Canada - Amplify Logistics
Description
This position is responsible for the day to day accounting operations of the overall company (Asset & Brokerage divisions), including the production of periodic financial reports and maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records.
This is a hands-on position and this role will be responsible for cash management.This role will also manage the day-to-day record keeping of accounts, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation, journal entry posting, and financial statement preparation.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee and actively participate in the operations of the accounting department.
- Manage all daytoday bookkeeping activities.
- Ensure that the accounting operations are reconciled monthly.
- Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner and accounts receivable are collected promptly.
- Prepare and distribute customer invoices daily.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and yearend close, including oversight of A/P and A/R process.
- Ensure that periodic bank reconciliations are completed.
- Respond to customer and vendor inquiries.
- Ensure that required debt payments are made on a timely basis.
- Create and set expectations for budgeting and benchmarking performance.
- Maintain the chart of accounts.
- Review and identify opportunities for simplification and automation in the current financial processes and systems.
- Maintain an orderly, paperless accounting filing system.
- Prepare and support internal management reporting.
- Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions.
- Manage outsourced functions.
- Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent business experience.
- CPA is a PLUS.
- Excellent computer skills are required with a mastery of Microsoft Excel.
- Strong operating accounting experience, ideally in a fastpaced environment.
- Detailoriented with effective organizational skills.
- Must be comfortable working both independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fastpaced environment while meeting deadlines and maintaining strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communications skills (oral and written).
- Highly motivated selfstarter.
- Tactfully relentless and disciplined.
