Student Project Assistant:
Score Processing


Duties (Position Summary):


Under the direction of a library staff member, the student project assistant processes music scores in-house and/or prepares music scores for commercial binding.

Tasks may include database entry, label production, sewing, and gluing; shelving and reorganizing library materials; and performing other supplementary tasks as assigned.


Required Skills:

Excellent knowledge of music and music materials, preferably with some formal training. Knowledge of music score formats. Demonstrated organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.

Ability to cope with physical requirements:
handling, carrying, and lifting library materials. Demonstrated ability to clearly transmit and receive information. Library or similar experience preferred. English spoken, read, and written. French spoken and read. McGill University is an English-language university where day-to-day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. Other languages an asset.
