What you'll do:


  • Travel between job sites regularly (Rotational work 2 weeks on 2 weeks off
  • Lab City)
  • Provide leadership and guidance regarding HSE (Health, Safety & Environmental) Corporate program, mentoring, and coaching to site personnel, which includes but is not limited to field personnel, project managers, and superintendents.
  • Inspect working conditions in office and construction settings to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
  • Manage departmental documentation and PPE to maintain compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements for service area.
  • HSE auditing and maintaining of the company COR program.
  • Conduct site orientations using video, PowerPoint, and other methods.
  • Interact and support Client's safety management personnel.
  • Prepare applicable content and participate in weekly meetings.
  • Manage Substance Abuse Prevention Program (preemployment and postincident).
  • Manage PPE and supply inventory.
  • Overview and development of JHAs and SWPs for content and completeness.
  • Conduct Field Inspections complete with written or electronic documentation.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor incident investigations on site investigation, corrective actions, execution, reporting, and tracking.
  • Monitor sitewide permits and compliance obligations.
  • Participate/lead OHS Site Safety Committee.
  • Prepare and document weekly Safety meetings topics specific to current work.
  • Responsible for all applicable site HSE related documentation.
  • Create an environment in which employees are looking to the HSE Department for assistance, guidance, and solutions.

What you'll bring:


  • Bachelor's degree or college diploma in occupational health and safety, or a related bachelor's degree with significant professional development in occupational health and safety.
  • Strong working knowledge of health and safety regulations related to construction industry.
  • Minimum 3 years' relevant experience.
  • Certification with the board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build relationships with employees at all levels of an organization.
  • Ability to lead, coach, and hold workers accountable regarding safety matters.
  • Experience in supervisory role an asset.
