- Lead (plan, implement, and evaluate) outreach, education, and awareness related to Indigenous research.
- Promote a culture of Indigenization within the university research community.
- Develop and implement plans to help researchers work with and alongside Indigenous individuals and communities.
- Provide advice and oversight regarding Indigenous research and building and strengthening relationships with Indigenous communities.
- Collaborate and build partnerships with faculties, departments, and other units across the university to advance Indigenous research.
- Advance Indigenous community engagement for the purpose of strengthening relationships and exploring research-related partnerships and other opportunities.
- Support research grant application development and provide feedback to researchers. Support the Indigenization of research agreements.
- Identify funding opportunities related to Indigenous research.
- Identify and advocate for the removal of structural and systemic barriers experienced by Indigenous researchers within the research ecosystem.
- Undergraduate degree in a related field.
- 5 years' relevant experience.
- A combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Strong understanding of Wabanaki world views, culture, and values with strong relationships with community(ies).
- Experience respectfully engaging with and/or working with and alongside Indigenous people, communities, and/or organizations.
- Comprehensive understanding and experience navigating complex and competing priorities.
- Experience in research administration or related experience in a post-secondary environment is an asset.
- Experience with research and project coordination in Indigenous communities is an asset.
- Experience in a role related to the implementation of reconciliation, Indigenization, and decolonization initiatives is an asset; and
- Knowledge of Indigenous research ethics is an asset.

The Office of Research Services (ORS), under the Vice-President (Research) portfolio, works with UNB faculty members to support their research interests. ORS facilitates research funding applications and is responsible for research contracts and agreements. ORS also provides advice and support services to faculty members in the areas of IP, partnership development, commercialization, and technology and knowledge transfer.
