    Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with maintenance supervisors and superintendents to schedule and prioritize maintenance activities, aligning with operational demands and resource availability.
  • Ensure the timely and efficient upkeep of Conuma's fleet of mobile mining equipment, prioritizing safety, sustainability, and operational efficiency.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with all related departments, ensuring that maintenance planning is integrated with operational goals and business objectives.
  • Actively participate in cross-functional meetings to align maintenance strategies with broader organizational goals and projects.
  • Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of existing maintenance strategies, making adjustments based on performance metrics and feedback.
  • Work closely with the warehouse and procurement department to ensure the timely availability of necessary parts and materials to meet scheduled and unscheduled maintenance needs.
  • Identify training needs and opportunities to enhance the skills and competencies of the maintenance team, focusing on safety, efficiency, and technological advancements.
  • Participate in the development and management of the annual maintenance budget, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently to meet maintenance goals.
  • Conduct financial reviews and audits related to maintenance expenditures to promote cost-efficiency and fiscal accountability.
  • Analyze maintenance data and operational trends to adjust maintenance plans and improve equipment reliability.
  • Provide technical support and expertise to the team, offering guidance during complex maintenance tasks and fostering an environment of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives within the maintenance department, aiming to enhance procedures and technologies used in equipment maintenance.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and technological advancements to continuously refine maintenance strategies.
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned.

    Education, Experience & Qualifications

  • Extensive hands-on experience with a wide range of heavy mining equipment and ancillary machinery used in open pit coal mining, including but not limited to shovels, drills, haul trucks, loaders, dozers, and excavators.
  • A minimum of 4 years' maintenance planning experience in a mining or similar heavy industrial environment. Demonstrated ability to manage and optimize large fleets of mobile equipment.
  • Proficiency in using computerized maintenance management systems.
  • Red Seal Certification as a Heavy Duty Equipment Technician is highly valued and considered an asset.

    Technical Competencies & Skills

  • Must be able to work 12-hour shifts on a 7x7 rotation.
  • Proficient in English communication, essential for clear and effective team leadership, safety compliance, and operational coordination.
  • Thorough understanding of mine equipment safety and maintenance standards, ensuring a high level of operational safety and equipment integrity.
  • Capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, including scheduling, resource allocation, and budget management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven track record of utilizing data to improve maintenance strategies and reduce equipment downtime.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail, enabling effective troubleshooting and maintenance strategies.
  • The ability to build strong relationships and foster a culture of safety, integrity, and teamwork, essential for maintaining a positive and productive work environment.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
  • Demonstrated stress and time management competencies, crucial for managing the demands of a dynamic and sometimes high-pressure work environment.

    Wage and Benefits

    Conuma Resources takes pride in providing industry-competitive wages and a comprehensive benefits package that truly values our employees. Specifically for the Mobile Maintenance Planner role, we offer an annual base salary range of $120, $132,000.00, along with a variety of bonuses. These bonuses include monthly efficiency bonuses linked to safety and production, quarterly retention bonuses, and a performance bonus tailored to reward your contributions. Our benefits package also includes paid vacation and personal days, 7% RRSP matching, and 100% employer-paid extended health and dental care, among other valuable perks.
