Job Description:

The Manager, Supplier Service Delivery supports the AVP, Technology Supplier Relationship Lead and the Technology Supplier Relationship Office.

This role oversees key supplier relationships to ensure governance, risk, compliance and audit frameworks are implemented and related activities are executed.


You will be responsible to design, implement and oversee the day-to-day operational processes that govern critical technology service providers to ensure contractual obligations are met.


What you will do

  • Partner with Technology leaders and teams to ensure key service delivery suppliers are governed and managed according to criticality and risk.
  • Collaborate to identify and document best practice processes for the management of service delivery providers with a goal towards both effectiveness and efficiency; partner with technology teams, leadership and corporate stakeholders to ensure supplier performance is governed and within Canada Life's risk and compliance requirements; develop, implement and improve processes and tools to support desired outcomes.
  • Design, document, and implement optimal processes to ensure effectiveness and efficiency of key supplier engagements.
  • Provide necessary information to second line of defense functions as required; working with leads to ensure alignment to policies and programs.
  • Work with internal audit on requests, coordinating response, developing action items based on audit findings, and consulting as appropriate.
  • Ensure the continued improvement and relevance of shared services processes and practices, with consideration for changing business, risk, regulatory and audit requirements.
  • Policy development including updating and creating policies, standards, and process documents where appropriate.
  • Effectively interpret and write various policies (regulatory, regional and internal).

What you will bring

  • Postsecondary degree/diploma in business or technology, or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • 10+ years' experience in supplier management, technology service delivery, and/or technology governance systems and processes
  • Has a bias to action and is highly motivated to discover innovative operational approaches
  • Ability to influence others at all levels of an organization with proven leadership skills
  • Possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal including writing policies
  • Strong analytical skills and logical reasoning, to understand quantitative and qualitative benefits and drawbacks
  • Experience working in financial services/insurance industry is an asset
  • Familiarity with Ariba is an asset
  • Flexibility for potential travel and global meetings at off hours.
