BC Parks is responsible for the management of one of the largest protected area systems in North America spanning 14.4 million hectares of land encompassing 1038 provincial parks, recreation areas, conservancies and ecological reserves and ensuring their world-class conservation, outdoor recreation, and cultural heritage values are protected for generations to come.


The Support Team Lead plans, develops and coordinates all administrative services (including HR support) for the Executive Director and Directors/Managers of the Service Transformation Branch.

The position also ensures administrative support and coordination for the Branch and supervises administrative support staff.

The position will establish and maintain effective liaison with Ministry executive, Division executive, Branch management, stakeholders, and partner service delivery agencies across the province.

The person we're looking for is an administrative coordinator and more - you're a key part of the glue that holds us together, a continuous learner, disruptive thinker, bridge builder, culture cultivator, someone who knows how to host a great gathering.


Job Requirements:

Education & Experience

  • A postsecondary certificate or higher in office administration, business administration or public administration
    and a minimum of one (1) year of related administrative support/coordination experience;
    OR,:
  • An equivalent combination of four (4) years of related administrative support/coordination experience, education and/or training may be considered.

Related administrative support/coordination experience must include the following:

  • Experience managing electronic calendars, including scheduling meetings and appointments.
  • Experience booking/making travel arrangements, arranging meetings and logĂ­stical coordination.
  • Experience formatting and proofreading a variety of documents, including confidential correspondence, briefing materials, detailed reports and presentations.
  • Experience with event and gatherings planning, hosting, and providing service.
Preference may be given for one or more of the following:

  • Experience supervising staff.
  • Experience with BC Government HR practices and logistics.
  • Experience working in an executive office.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Experience in budget management and financial administrative practices.
  • Experience using and maintaining information in the CLIFF/EDRMS correspondence tracking system.
  • Experience with eApprovals document approval system.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and ways of working.
