The Vehicle and Equipment Management Agency (VEMA) is undertaking a significant transformational journey, and this position will be responsible for supporting the Agency's vision within the Winnipeg location.
Conditions of Employment:
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Must possess and maintain a valid Manitoba class 5 driver's licence without restrictions
- Must be able to travel by land, air, or water occasionally, as required
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Significant experience working within a vehicle shop environment and performing fleet vehicle maintenance and repairs. Additional relevant education may be considered
- Significant experience performing mechanical repairs and maintenance on medium or heavy duty vehicles
- Experience in building, leading and motivating teams in a supervisory capacity
- Experience developing operating guidelines and/or procedures
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with mínimal supervision
- Strong organization skills with the ability to manage multiple or competing priorities with tight deadlines
- Strong verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate technical financial information to nonfinancial individuals
Duties:
- This position will direct the operations and daily activities of the VEMA equipment repair shop to ensure safe, timely, and costeffective repair, mobilization and servicing of equipment and materials._
