Group Manager, Audit and Risk Management Services

***: Reporting to the Group Director, Audit & Risk Management Services, this role will be responsible for managing and delivering high-quality, professional, value-added and risk-based internal audit services throughout the NFI group of companies. Additionally, this role will be responsible for supporting specific annual external audit requirements, evaluating the adequacy of disclosure controls, and the design and operating effectiveness of systems of internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR). The internal audit program also covers information system controls and risk management processes.


WHAT YOU WILL DO:


  • Assist the Group Director in developing and executing the annual audit plan for the NFI group of companies.
  • Establish a high level of credibility and build professional relationships with the Leadership Team, business unit teams, support functions, audit contractors, and external auditors.
  • Work with business unit leaders to understand each business unit's risk profile and monitor the profiles to identify emerging risks. Provide objective and reliable assessments of the adequacy of risk management practices within the business units and practical recommendations to improve them.
  • Support the Finance team in sustaining the ICFR program by executing or coordinating testing of the design and operational effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR), with the assistance of the Audit and Risk Analyst(s) and assigned Finance resources, in accordance with the annual ICFR plan.
  • Execute projects (audits, consulting, advisory services, ERM) based on the highest risk exposure areas as determined through the Executive Risk Committee (ERC), risk assessments, emerging risks and requests from the Leadership Team and the Board.
  • Manage audits, including inhouse audits carried out by the Audit and Risk Analyst(s) and/or audits carried out by cosourcing partner(s).
  • Prepare reports quarterly on the results of audit projects for presentation to the Enterprise Risk Committee and the Audit Committee.
  • Consult with the NFI Group Legal team on matters of compliance as requested.
  • Monitor the status of deficiencies arising from audits and ICFR testing. Identify deficiencies that require attention and escalation where agreedupon action plans are not met. Support management in remediation efforts.
  • Participate in committees/councils developing new business processes, modifying current business processes, and /or implementing proposed system enhancements.
  • Participate in crossfunctional projects or teams as assigned.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent, preferably in a business discipline
  • Accounting designation (CPA)
  • Five (5) or more years of relevant experience in an audit function or related business / corporate function
  • Comprehensive knowledge of risk management, internal controls, internal audit standards and business best practices
  • An auditrelated designation (CIA, CISA, CRMA, or something similar) will be considered an asset.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • A limited amount of travel, some international, is required for this position.
